What/Who is Kimama?

Kimama is a Japanese word that translates best to “as-is” or “with the flow”. We started Kimama in 2020 during the pandemic - home together each day, finding ways to stay creative (and sane), with the realization that food is our joy, especially sharing healthy & fun meals with loved ones. We went from doing home pickup/deliveries to family and friends, to popping up at farmers markets throughout the week, and now we are slowing down doing special event popups and working on sharing more through the online world (for now).

We find purpose through sharing loving meals, but we are also gentle in our approach as we seek balance in food, health, and the “industry of” it all. We don’t want to ‘pump out’ food, or ever serve just to make $$. We have our pace. We have our standards, and this is a channel of art and expression for us, so we have our style. And we are so grateful!!! for the continuous support even through the changes, the transitions, the constant hiatuses.. Thank you for the beautiful community and the overwhelming support, encouragement & love. Thank you for believing in us.

Nene & Lulu

Two sisters finding flow, in search of freedom and balance. Expressing ourselves through food, art, connection and self-discovery. A spectrum of interests, some in common and some not - but on the same path toward self-expression, unconditional love, service, and fulfillment. Same same but different.

Born and raised in the South Bay of California, Nene currently in Oceanside & Lulu in LA & Tokyo.

We have started Kimama and are currently in the phase of continuing as we can from where we are. We are doing minimal popups and events as Lulu is back and forth from LA to Tokyo pursuing her interests in fashion & modeling. Nene is being mama to baby Zen, finding ways to keep Kimama active online and sharing through popups and private events when she can <3
